Anybody purchased PFC Map(s) from Jodeny
I got a recommendation from another forum member that Jodeny was a good guy to get maps from. Anybody have any experience with doing business with him. His name is John. He normally charges $150 for a map with support.
If so, what where the results? Good map? Reliability of the map(s)? THANKS |
Your money is better spent purchasing the LM-1 and a Datalogit which are inexpensive, available and work well.
|
That's cheaper than the SR map that costs $300 and is pig rich. It all depends on your level of confidence with your own tuning. I think he'll set it up safe and if that's good enough for you and you don't have the time or knowledge to tune it further, then go for it.

Well you see i have tuned my buddies map (93' single tubo) I guess I am just concerned about the ignition tuning. I dont really know the first thing about tuning the ignition.
|
I heard he's great...LOL..but he likes to fly 'under the radar'

john i'll be talking to you after chris builds my motor... do you have a shop that you can go to dyno tune? how much do you charge?

Tim IMHO; i'm not sure i would buy a map from anyone...regardless of who mad it! all cars are different! ALL! i know not everyone can tune a sar themself but i wouldnt recomend buy'n a map from someone... ~Jonathan |
Wargasm's "Datalogit Tuning" document is well-written & free. Innovate's support forum is free. This forum is free. Datalogit' Yahoo support forum is free. Although conceptualizing the big street-tuning picture can seem daunting, most of the P-FC settings via Datalogit don't need to be changed and some settings are changed very little after they're established.
Anybody can "do it" when they own Datalogit, a LM-1 WBO2, a good laptop AND a car that is in excellent running order. I'll say it again - spend money on making the car right - new engine main harness wiring, fuel injectors, fuel pump. Then, Innovate LM-1 and Datalogit. This is not expensive for modern-day race car technology and equipment. |
I little update for everybody. I got the map from John (Jodeny) The map is very good for a starting point. There maya be a few drivability tweeks that need to be made but other than that it is pretty much perfect, even for boost. Its a bit rich but thats good insurance for now. I will be trimming the extra fuel out over the course of the next few months. The best part is ou can reach john just about any time and he really knows his stuff.
|
care to share what "driveability tweaks" you think are needed?
|
yeah i heard good things about john...
|
I bought a map from him awhile back for my TD08.
Ran great, boosted great.. I made a few adjustments to make sure I didn't blow an engine. But timing was good, and the map ran quite well... and made serious power for my setup. -Darren- |
i'll give a thumbs up to john, he's been really easy to work with and his map is MUCH more driveable than the excuse of a base map from rx7store, i shoulda just went with him in the first place!

I have also had cars in here with maps Jodeny did and I needed to make adjustments when I dynoed them. Nothing wrong with his map, but there was nothing in his map that would make the car run better than our base maps. Jason |

I want nothing to do with it. Many people contact me for maps, and I try to accomodate all of them. That being said- I have over 70 maps. Many of which have grave mistakes that have clearly blown peoples motors. I have never once shared inferior tuners names info with anyone publicly nor privately because I believe in karma. I try to respect other tuners and if I cannot accomodate a 'customer' then I give them multiple suggestions on who they can go to. It seems t me his RX-7 community has no integrity and no respect. Let's try to respect each other. I think it's almost time for a vette.:) Of course all mail order maps need some adjustment, thats the caveat, but using one of my maps has never been the direct result of blowing anyones engine ever....except my own during experimentation...... John,
I wasent saying that your map was bad. I was pointing out that there was not enough difference in the map for one to run much better than the other unless the customer messed with it. I have used my timing maps on hundereds of cars with no problems and have done plenty of testing on the dyno. A mail order map is what it is, basically a starting point to get the car on a dyno with a wideband. Jason |
