2k Idle after install of PFC
 

I searched and found a few things that might be the reason my car is misbehaving, but just thought i would ask to see if anyone else has any ideas. First off i followed the FAQ step by step, removed the 4 pins from the PFX and went through the 30 minute idle procedure. I drove it around after that and it still had a little trouble getting back down to idle after i let off the gas, but after searching i read that this will go away with time more than likely.

This morning i went to start up my car, and it jumped to a 2000 RPM idle. I figured that it might just be because the engine is cold, but even after it warmed up the idle would still not drop. I do have my air pump removed and just read to disable the O2 idle control sensor, but i'm a little bufuddled. The car was not doing this yesterday but it is now.

Anyone have any additional suggestions? I'm at work so i'll be watching this thread, if you have any questions that might help sort out the problem please ask and i will elaborate as much as possible.

At lunch i went out to start it, and disable the o2 idle control. Before i disabled the control the car started up and idled normally. It did not change when i disabled the control. Perhaps it was a fluke?

Started it up to drive home it went to 1500, then 2k again and stayed there.

Have you checked the idle speeds in the idle control table?

Yes, they are all well below 2k. I disconnected the batter over night and am going to try to have it relearn this morning.

Started it up and it went to 1.8k, as its getting warmer its progressing up to 2k+. Looks like i'm going to have to put the stock ECU back in so i can drive it to work today.

Have you insured that the throttle cable is not sticking, or that the fast idle cam is disengaged after warm up?
Have you verified that a hose has not come loose and you have an air leak?

The only problem that going from a stock ecu to PFC with proper setup, is the fluctuating idle problem caused usually by too much air or releaning.

Your problem is not normal.
Have you tried to help the PFC to learn by reducing the amount of idle air that is going through throttle body?

Use one of the two throttle body air mechanical adjustments.

Mine (also fairly new) is behaving in a similar way most days.. ..unles it is completely warmed up. Still very driveable, but I might also try re-learning when I get a chance.

Yeah, i took mine out because driving in the city with a 2k idle is sort of annoying. I just got my datalogit kit in and put my PFC back in and am going to screw with it to see if i can get it to idle normally.

Listen to Chuck! Your problem is most likely not with the PFC setup, it's with the idle setscrews on the TB. You need to buy his tuning documents, they will walk you thru the idle setup and you will feel like a tuner in notime.
