Pineapple Oil Mods

Blake or Rob,

I thought I might suggest that you start a thread about your stages of oil mods when building motors. Or perhaps a more widespread thread describing in some detail (I know proprietary protection may concern you) your various ala carte engine build performance mods.

I recently had a motor built by pineaple and ordered every upgrade rob suggested. This included the stage 3 oil mods, HD water seals (pretty self explanatory), and a small port job (again fairly straight forward).

A list and description of the various mods might help to advertise your work, and give me something to refer back to :)

Just a thought....

Well, Rob doesn't want me to give too much away, so I can only speak in generalities. I am on the verge of convincing him to make a DVD how-to of the process, so we can profit from the knowledge *and* share it with the world, instead of just giving it away and losing a competitive advantage for nothing. What others seem to have learned from dissassembling our engines is not comprehensive.

The basic idea of oil mods is to better lubricate the engine. However, most people just up the oil pressure and do nothing for flow. We port the oil pump cavity, enlarge various oil passages and, in some cases, add a "loop line" to equalize main bearing pressure, front and rear. This in addition to increasing oil pressure and often running multi-window main bearing (not stock until the FD). Stage III oil mods also include mods to the e-shaft, among other things. Frankly, I'm not sure it's a good idea for the average person to replicate our system of oil mods themselves because the cost of the tools required exceeds the cost of paying a professional, but I do understand the DIY nature of enthusiasts, so I think it might be a good video and tool kit to sell.

Blake, I think that would be an awsome video. Simeple oil mods like porting the oil pump cavity and adding the loop line. Maybe talk about some of the other little things that could be found on the net, like getting rid of the banjo fittings and other little things to help oil pressure.
