pfs pmc problems

I just installed a PFS purple PMC in my 93 R1, which previously ran silky smooth. I zeroed out all map entries so theoretically I'm running stock fuel and timing maps (right?).

Problem is, above 3000 rpm, with any load above medium, the engine stumbles, stutters, misses... It still fires, but I can imagine one rotor is completely cut... back off a tad and it runs fine - there is a very distinct line (load-related) where it occurs and goes away. Is this fuel cut? I am nowhere near WOT when this occurs, and it has nothing to do with boost.

I tried tweaking fuel +/-6% in the medium and high load ranges where it occurs, (thinking maybe it was running rich), but no adjustments made an appreciable difference.

O2 readings look legit, load readings look accurate, PMC has latest revision (Pinks?)

Did I buy a purple lemon?

Is it new or used?

I had a similar problem with my PMS.
It turned out to be boost learn problems.
The keypad actually showed me an error code which
was a memory problem.
Check your boost under wide open throttle.
You might have to do a manual boost adjustment
Remember that the 'boost learn' feature only learns at
wide open throttle.

The original rx7 list archives has quite a bit of information on the PMS. Look under yahoo groups for
the site
