Way out there swap!!
I am in need of some info here. Ive looked into a swap that will make you guys cringe lol. I was Thinking of a Ford 3.8L V6 out of the 86-91 Mustang. what i need to know is It plausible and what would be needed to Make 300-400 Hp at the crank with a Turbo set up. i want to Use the Engine and Trans together so no need for adapters to mate the engine to the Fc trans. what wiring do i need to modify. ill be going Carbed so no need for a Ecu. any Input and HELP not bad mouthing would be great. let the iDeas and Info Flow Guys :)

No one has done a swap like that. Mostly due to the fact that the combination doesn't really make a lot of sense to put in another car on purpose...

yeah i dont get it. i didnt think mustang had a 3.8 v6 through the late 80s. thought it was either 4cyl or v8 but i could be wrong.
either way, you could make a lot more power with a 5.0 or 350 for probably similar or less money. |

For the price of a setup and fabrication like that, you can build a proper 13BT and have the satisfaction of it all bolting into the chassis.

If you want a V6 mustang motor, get a V6 mustang... I just don't get the V-whatever into Rx7's. Start with a similar sized V6/8 car Like a fox body mustang. No need to waste time and money doing the swap.

the 86-93 mustang either had the 2.3L 4 or the 5 slow... they didn't have a v6 mustang until the "new" fairmont err mustang came out in 94?

Why go through the big trouble of swapping a foreign motor in and going for a crappy 200hp v6? My lm7 with just a cam will put out as much power as the turbo'd v6. Just because the motor is cheap, doesn't make it a good swap. That's like putting a CA18 into a FC just because you can get the motors |
