Is It Possible...

is it possible to put a skyline engine in an FC? doesn't need to be an RB25 or RB26... an RB20 sounds good already... would it fit?

philiptompkins 02-04-06 10:22 PM

anything is possible, its been done

FromSilvia2seven 02-04-06 11:44 PM

people have fit SR20 motors in them all day RB20 is no different but i would recamend the SR over the RB.

Nihilanthic 02-05-06 12:36 AM

Yeah, it would fit, but there are much better choices unless youre simply thinking "skyline + FC"

It would mean custom mounts + a tranny crossmember, new DS... wiring and fuel lines and such. Same old shit.

except its a cast iron block and has 2 more cylinders

There would be MAJOR subframe modifications to do so.

But yes, it's possible. Can your wallet take the pain though?

If you have to ask, then the answer must be NO.

I think you said it better than anyone here :icon_tup:

well, my wallet can take the pain... but would u recommend the SR over the RB? i dont know... or should i just stick with 13B? i'm having trouble playing around with the 13B and i know my way around SR's and RB's... that's why i'm asking...

digitalsolo 02-06-06 12:23 PM

Vs. RB and SR, I'd probably just keep the 13b. The 13B has at least the power potential of an SR, and with the difficulty you'll face getting an RB in, and the cost of parts for it, the 13B would be your most effective choice most likely.

...and this is coming from a piston guy. ;)

Cheesy 02-17-06 05:19 PM

or you could even build up an RB30DET

Nihilanthic 02-17-06 06:57 PM

Or you could use a more cost effective piston engine if youre not all hung up on it being "jdm tyte" like a 3800 and a BOLT IN MOUNT SETUP from Grant :P

His 2.3T Mounts are up on the site now, granted youd like to play with a ford 4banger :us4allswi
