Need some advice - 2JZGTE + V160 on SA?

It seems the 2jz + v160 swap on FCs and FDs are more common than on a SA, are there any technical reasons not to do it on the SA's? Is the SA any less sound of a platform to do this swap?

Initial motive to use the SA -- ~2400 lbs

I searched; do you know of any detailed build threads of this being done -step by step? Are you working on it now? T2 SWAP Kit compatibility on a SA?

Uniqueness is welcomed but potential for performance (in all it's definition) is required.

What handicaps would there be to using the SA, if any and why?

Thanks for your expert insight...

This many views and no love for the first gen? Can't possibly be because I'm new here right ;)

If you've got some helpful advice on doing the swap-- I'd like to hear it.

to put a 2jz in a first gen is dumb dude.. i mean unless you are simply making a hardcore drag car and you just want to compete.. why put a $3,000 motor in a $300 car...

so after all is said and done you have a super fast first gen, but could never get more than $6500 probably.

put that same set up in a FD... you have a Car that can EASILY sell for $20k. In My Opinion, that's why people do not do the First gen swap.

It's way easier to drop a cheap 350 with a th400 tranny+150shot on slicks and run 10's.. thats the common sway for a first gen, and is very cheap ( compared to 2jz swaps)

Not everyone buys these cars with resale value in mind. I know for a fact I will probably never get what I have paid over the years out of this car. But owning and modifying my dream car to fit my personal needs and taste make it all worth it.

Personaly I love the styling and look of a clean 1st gen. I'm not sure how ideal the swap is but if done right it would be an absolute monster. I say go for it but be prepared to break open your piggy bank lol.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. I did not think about it from a financial sense but I understand what you mean. I have all the parts in front of me so I wondered why not? Plus my rx7s are *very clean* both exterior and interior. I also don't have the heart to chop it up so they're now for sale.

Having said that, I haven't fully decided if I also want to sell the 80 Leather Sport model so there still might be a chance of doing this. So being new to rx7s (been with the Supras since the 99 or so) Where can I find dimensional info of engine bay comparison between the different generations. If they were identical or close, maybe I could use the same swap kit as the one for the 3rd gen? Thoughts?
