Thoughts?

looks like crap and doesn't lowering the whole subframe mess with the suspension geometry?

MK3Brent 10-19-10 06:34 PM

Moves the whole subframe 2" lower, you can barely fit your fist between the rack and the ground.

I bought that kit to set the engine in the bay while I designed a frame around it.
Then I came across a great deal on a Tech2 frame and bought it.

I'll sell you this kit for $200 +shipping if you want to do the same thing I was going to do.

ProjectD 10-19-10 07:23 PM

That thing is just scary.

mopar97 10-19-10 07:32 PM

look at the mounts.... the metal and welds look HORRIBLE!!! like scrap metal they found cut with a sawz-all..mig welded it and painted it..

That's Not The Question. Personally No I Wouldnt, But I Would Like To See Someone Give Feedback As To How It Performs Not Opinions On It. It Could Look Like Total Shit But Be Ok As Far As Handling

It's a complete piece of shit. End of story. Even the good kits mess up the balance of the FD. If this one gets the 2jz under a stock hood it is even worse(They lowered the steering rack too much to correct).

No one is going to do the legwork for you. Do it yourself.

MK3Brent 09-06-11 03:30 PM

As for the construction of the "kit."
It has proper thickness steel, and correctly positioned gussets.

Structurally it's fine.

The fitment leaves much to be desired.
The design and execution of its intended purpose leaves much to be desired.

Is it worth the money?
Not really. If you need something to get the engine in the car, it works great.

Then just buy it. Isn't it like $300? You are going to spend 30x that on a half-decent 2J setup.

If You Can Read Correctly, In My Previous Post Clearly Said " Personally No I Wouldnt". Second My Builds Never End Up Costing $30k. Those Are The People That Have No Connections And No Skill In Building Cars And Take It In To A Shop Or Just Buy The Top Of Line Parts And Replace Things That Dont Need To Be Replaced. I Can Build A Decent FD with a 2J For Hella Less Than That. Im not going for a Power Goal of 1000hp, as its gonna be a street car, 700 will be more than enough for An FD

Why on earth do you capitalize 90% of your words in the middle of a sentence?

You Just Waste Your Time Asking About Something Irrelevant To The OP's Topic. If You Dont Like It You Can Excuse Yourself. Thank You

MK3Brent 09-08-11 09:41 AM

FYI, I have over $20K in my 2J build.

That's if you're doing it right, and using high quality parts.

Well That's Why I Said If You Buy Top Of The Line Parts in My Previous Post. The Point I'm Tryin to Come Across Is , That People Want To Buy Parts For Their JZ Engine That They Dnt Need To Make What 500hp? With Todays Technology These 2JZ Engines Can Make 800+whp And Actually Last. But In Your particular Build It Was To The Point That It Was Do It Once And Do It Right Type Of Deal. I Have A Close Friend That Is Making 591rwhp Thru a NA-T 2JZ (T67 @ 19psi) And he's been running like that for a few years now and he runs it hard on the weekends.

I'm sorry but looool. Is there a reason why you can't seem to type correctly? It's So Distracting.

Not only is this not your forum, but it's not even your thread.

You can excuse yourself now.

Didnt say it was my forum or my thread. I came to this thread for the same reason the OP did. To see any results based on the kit.

Have you built a JZ Before? I've built plenty. Ive seen NA-T 2JZ Making 580+rwhp daily driven, and lasting over 3 years and counting.

The 2jzge turbo conversion is well documented. Not special.
So, what's your point?

If you're looking for bargain basement mounting kits on ebay, you're already doing it wrong.
