Im thinking about a new motor
*zips up my flame suit*
Well, my rx-7 has been just sitting in a building half complete and ive been throwing around the idea of a new motor. -360 V8 with around 400-500hp to the wheels -3800 SII superharged 6cyl out of my gran prix with a smaller pully, cone filter my freind owns the 360 and it runs and everything just fine but we are kind of stumped on how to do the front suspension, we have a ford rear end from a 5.0 stang we could african engineer on for the extra beefage out back. We have the knowledge and resources to make the motor fit. We just dont have any idea for front suspension and that waht i ask you guys. any suggestions would be appreciated. :Kill1: |
I certainly wouldn't do a piston engine. Maybe because I know the ins and outs of rotaries, and how easy they are to deal with.
|
But i'd rather have the power of a piston engine because i know the ins and outs of a piston engine, and i have tons and tons of parts for them.
|
Hey to get that kind of power, I'm doing a 4 rotor. :D
Sounds like you already have your answer for the engine. So you're just basically asking about suspension, and what will handle the extra weight... Look into Eibach springs because according to Mazdatrix, they are like 200 pounds per inch. |
But i dont have the mula for a 4 rotor, and yeah. So the eibach springs. What about chassis reenforcements, my rex already has a cage in it and ive got buckets for it. I suppose ill do some strut tower bars and sway bars, maybe add some more bars to the cage cuz its only a 7 point. Dunno what kind of tire im gonna have to run cuz i doubt ill be able to come close to hooking up with my khumo ecsta's and panasport ul's... So many decisions, so little conclusions..
