good motor for an FB?
alright since i have been thinking about going to another engine...debating on what to go with...does any one know a decently simple motor to drop in it besides a v8? i wanna either be v6 or 4cyl. just trying to get an idea.
|
What kind of power?
What kind of performance? There are plenty of choices. |
i shouldve stated that my bad on that. i want decent power and be able to DD it..i was thinking an SR20 but i dont know...just would like some one give me a few good engines that would fit with out to much work..like i dont wanna spend 6months getting the engine fitted right.
|
Easiest fitment is stock tbh.
The only quick n' easy aftermarket swap that I know of comes from Granny's Speed Shop. If you're going to go piston, go all out. |
sr's are good strong reliable engines, they make just enough power in my opinion, good luck

i love my rotarys just i cant afford to own one right now...no job and no income doesnt help my story and i have a 85k 12a fb no idea when it will go being my only car. i will for sure put a rotary back in it some time.
|
hmm sr20 is my vote.. or a grand national engine if you want power and v6.. another vote id have to give to the toyota 2rz power plant.. supposed to be a wonderful motor.
|
you could get a chevy 3.8L or 4.2L V6. or if you are feeling ballsy you could find a 4G63 and a T5 tranni and make a 4gFB
|
85K on a 12a is nothing. if you dont treat it like shit and do the maintenance itll last you longer than youll have the car, probably.
if you dont have a job or income, how do you expect to afford an engine swap? cause unless you do a shitty job thatll cost you more money later, then its not going to be cheap. |
i have like 3k saved up from all my TII stuff and i'll have more soon. so i was getting an idea of what i could do.
|
I can sell you my fb turbo setup , thats 450hp drop in..... send me your email for pics
