FB 5.0 sway bar
Guys,
Looking for sway bar options, How much bend and what arc is needed to clear the engine on the Granny's kit conversion. steve |
just to give you a heads up. If you remove the front sway bar it allows for better weight transfer of the car and a better launch
|
Not 4 drag, this is a road racer
|
well I know they sell spacers for them at Granny's or else they use to.

Exhaust pipe bender

I did not use the Grannys kit, built my own mounts, but I had to form the sway bar to clear the pulleys I used, which came from Ford Motorsports. My exhaust guy just put it in his bender, only took him a minute to put in the required bends. It was not much, but you can see it in the photo. Of course it requires three bends - one in the middle, and one on each side, just inboard of the mount point. You can use a piece of small tubing or heavy wire to make a pattern.

My swaybar isn't even close to the front pulley, but I'm using Explorer brackets. I could run a huge swaybar if I wanted.
Switch to SN95 pulleys if you are having problems... |
Its more about having a custom sway bar built, and additional engine height is a problem for road racing.
