fan relays?

hey

as u may know im running a 2jz in my FD, my question is, do i need the fan relays if im running aftermarket fans? or can i delete them from my harness, thanks

You need at least one relay in the line due to the current the fans draw. Then you could wire that relay to a manual switch or something temperature related if you like.

does it matter which relay?

Shouldn't matter. You could even use an aftermarket one if you wanted to get fancy (which I probably would).

^^ I would.

also, should i keep my diagnostics box or just delete it?

diagnostic box has a fuel pump checker in it, but that will only work if you are using most of the factory fuel pump wiring.

if i delete it will it effect it?

You probably should download the wiring diagrams and go through the harness to see what you do and don't need. I just did that this past weekend for my 2jz FD, and fwiw I deleted the diagnostics box, front relay box (removed and relocated the TNS relay ad horn relay), and all of the factory cooling fan relays as I plan in using a new relay for my cooling fan.

The 2jz has a diagnosics box intact so I don't think I need the stock FD one, and those engine clips can be deleted aswell since my 2j harness was modified to not use those.

Where did u relocated ur relays to?

With those 2 gray plugs you need to ground the brown and white wire in order to stop the low coolant buzzer from going off constantly, just like in the LS1 swap. My TNS relay had enough loose wiring to relocate it into the cabin without lengthening the factory wires. The horn relay (the only other relay from the front relay box I used) I still need to hide away somewhere near the frame rail.
