i have a 1990 n/a vert.

i want to know what engine swaps can be done to it and their difficulty.

well let me ask you what are you looking to do to it? if your going to swap a tii in it the best and easy thing to do is find a 1990 t2 and t2 harness changed the fuel pump and your good to go but depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend

im just looking into what kind of swaps you can do and what you need. price really doesnt matter right now though.

you can put another n/a rotary, a turbo rotary, a 6 cylinder, and an 8 cylinder in rather easily

i heard from a pro drifter with an fc that has an ls1 tell me that it bolts right up and the only small modificaton you have to do is cut the front frame so that the radiator can fit

I wouldn't say that an LS1 'bolts right up'... I would say that an LS1/T56 combination can be made to fit with aftermarket parts from grannys speed shop or a LOT of fabrication.

I have a couple friends with V8 RX7s, after all the work they have done, their cars feel more like camaros than RX7s.

(The Turbo II is a lot closer to a direct bolt in replacement.)

Just a thought, if he really meant cutting the frame, would anyone agree with me that that is more than a small modification?

You can put whichever motor you wish in the car, as long as it physically fits, the problem is getting it mounted and running properly. A Turbo II swap is a pretty easy route to go if you want a change, not all that expensive. Well, it is, but it isn't. Most people on the club do straight turbo swaps or turbo their N/A. Some folks decide to be sacreligious, and put a V8 in the car. It's just not right.
