hey guys you helped me trash the vg30 swap and the 3rd gen swap...so now i am thinking of something more practical, like a turbo four banger or v6. nothing too radical, and along the lines of an sr20, rb20, ca18, anything that is japanese and has crazy potential. the sr20 is kind of expensive, the rb20 is a little less, and the ca18 has a shit load of potential once you open it up, so basically i need some input once again and some more ideas of different engines. preferably a turbo. i love the rotary to death but they are expensive to maintain so its gone. i emailed granny's about an sr20 swap but nobody ever contacts me back.

Why japanese? There are many great american V6 engines. The best engine is probably the 3.8 V6 from a mid 80's Buick Grand National. These are a turbocharged engine and have GREAT potential, probably more than most japanese V6's. There are many of these cars running in the 10's without too much trouble.

I second that. If you want great power from a V6, go with the Buick Turbo 3.8. If you want a 4-banger, look into the Ford 2.3...or 4G63.

The only problems you'll run into with inline engines is the fact they are tall by nature. I doubt the 4G63 would fit under the hood with those massive cam gears.

A V-based engine will be a better fit if you intend to keep the stock lines of the hood.

Other than that, it's all personal choice.

If you want *REALLY* cheap, go with a ford 2.3T... grants almost done making mounts for them into a FC :bigthumb: its still a strong little motor and can make tons of power, btw...
