Do you have any pictures of what you might have done to the subframe to get the hood to close?

I'm a good bit into my swap, and noticed you had the Tech2 subframe with a scoot style hood closing.

Seems you would need at least 1.5" shim to bring the engine down to do this.

thanks i believe i have the second ever twin turbo rx7 fd. around right now. im second to the original supra7 that SP engineering did. but first with 2jz twin turbo scoot hood lol. i just welded up my downpipes. they are 2.5 inch each going in to a y-pipe that i made and hooks up to a 4in electric exhaust cutout. i also had to make a hole in each manifold so i can run external waste gates. im run 2 tial 38mm mbs gates. the new style is so much smaller.

The engine bay definitely looks clean in the pics...but I have to say that the 90-degree elbows concern me in regards to air flow..

Sharp bends like that, especially in a coupler, are never really good.

Maybe you could re-do your intercooler piping a little? Just a recommendation..

if you noticed when the air comes up its ot hitting a flat surface on the coupler. the coupler is rounded so when the air makes its way up it has a smooth curve to flow threw.

For what it's worth, I've done a flow calculation on varying geometry which includes angles.

You may be surprised that the changing ID from source to termination causes more non laminar areas than direction changing while in a pressurized state.
