20b gsx

a little while ago I learned about 4G63 Swaps into RX7's and that the RX7 tranny's bellhousing matches up to the mitsubishi engine

this gave me an incredible idea, 20B in a GSX shell, albeit the engine would be transversely mounted, but a 20B would closely bolt up to a GSX 5 speed right? and the intake and exhaust would be facing the front of the car, given that the GSX transmission is on the left side

I am just wondering dimensions here, there shouldnt have to be any modification to the firewall right? since its transversely mounted and the exhaust and intake will be facing the front, the rotor housings should clear the firewall right? and I assume the length of the 20B and the 4G63 should be close, all that would need to be done is the custom engine mounts and standalone fuel and ECU

I'm thinkin NA 20B Bridgeported and carbureted 340HP with that AWD powertrain :date:

Sorry to burst your bubble but if your end goal is 340hp then this could be done on the 4G for less then 1K.

I know what can be done on the 4G63, but I dont want the 4G63 Engine...

and I am talking initially

besides I am not just in it for the numbers..

this is the worst idea ever.

A 20B is considerably longer than a 4G63.

I was not aware that they "almost bolted up" either... given that people swap Mitsubishi engines into Mazdas easily by dint of the fact that Mazda used Mitsubishi engines in their trucks for a couple years and those same trucks used the same transmission as a Turbo II which has a replaceable bellhousing, so you just need to find the right bellhousing and your engine swap is made a whole lot easier.

The bolt pattern isn't remotely similar, but a twist of fate allows you to bolt a MitsuMill to an RX-7 ribcase trans by using a rare OEM bellhousing. It doesn't work in reverse.

ok hear im a DSM guy the 4g64 wide block motors will bolt up to the tranny there manly found in mighty max trucks when people RWD a 4g63 or 4g63 most the time thay use starieon trannys and unless u wana dunp the cash for a dame nice tranny i wouldnt see a stock DSM GST or GSX tranny holding up to that hi RPM's that much to me i dont see any advantiges to doing it but im not a big rotory guy so
