1st Gen Swaps???

What engines have successfully been put into a 1st gen rx7 other than a v8?

Dan_s_young 10-06-09 10:03 PM

2nd gen turbo's, 3rd gen turbo's, 20b's, sr20's

You name it, it can be done just takes some time and effort...

Sorry let me rephrase. I know anything can technically be done. What NON-ROTARY swaps have you guys seen done on these. Actually seen them done or have a link to a site that did it. I have a shell. I am looking to make it drift as easy as possible. I have nothing against rotary's but im tired of rebuilding them and working on them.

Ford 302 in Stilettoman's 84' GSL, check out the cardomain page.
You will not find a cleaner V8 conversion any where on the planet!

G54B Mitsubishi Starion motor bolts right up if I remember correctly (Friends G54 powered mightymax had an RX7 trans in it) And it can put down a TON of power fairly easily.

ive seen someone that had an s2000 motor in it

Saw one in a boneyard once that had a straight six out of a 240z in it; confused the hell out of me for a few seconds.

Not sure if that qualifies as "successfully," though, lol.

The 1st gen specific section is for discussing Rotary powered vehicles. This is being moved to the correct section which is the other engine section.
