1jz swap fd HELP!
 

Well I've started my 1jz swap, and to try and save money, I've gone with the ksracing 1jz/2jz rx7 swap kit. Yes, that is the one from eBay. Anyway, I've been having a few problems. The first problem is that the kit didn't come with any new bolts, and I've had to get my own. However, for the front bolts, they seem to be stuck to the chassis, and they only had nuts on them. I can't attach the new mounts, because theres no way to bolt them in.
Let me try to explain. On the rear part of the mounts, there are just some regular bolts, and I was able to go buy some longer ones to make it fit. However the front part of the mounts is just held on by nuts, and the rest of the bolts are part of the chassis. When I put in the ksracing mounts, they are longer than the bolt, so I can't get the nut in. My second problem is that I was gonna get the tech2motorsports dvd. (Mostly to see how they did the throttle cable, and how they installed hoses, etc.). However I bought one from them but when it didn't ship for a few months and I got no replies back from.them, I cancelled the order with paypal. I did the same for drifting.com. does anyone know anywhere I can get this from or have any info on it. Possibly a free download.

The bolts for nuts you're talking about are studs.
They are threaded and can be removed in replacement for bolts.

No offense, but if you need a DVD to help you with this swap, you're going to be in trouble.
Best to start a build thread as you go, and post questions one at a time.

Ok sorry bout that. Im actually 15 and I'm doin this with swap with my dad. He's just away for the weekend so I couldn't ask him about it. Anyway, I tied to get the studs off with a breaker bar. I tried it first gently, then harder but to no avail. And no, I.wasn't turning it the wrong way. Also I will hopefully start a build thread soon. And I just wanted the dvd so that I could know how they did certain things and mostly about the wiring.

I wouldn't waste your time buying the DVD. I picked it up on a whim when I saw it for a few dollars in someones "For Sale" thread. It is nearly useless. The main thing I was interested in was wire harness modification, but on the DVD it says, "Here is our pre-made wire harness. Buy it and it's plug-and-play."

i agree. mine came with my subframe kit i ordered from tech2. it has a few small take away's for people that dont have much experience installing engines in cars but nothing i would really go out and purchase separately. the video is more of an instruction guide to install the engine with everything already fabricated(made by tech2). its a nice add in from tech2 if you buy the whole kit and all their parts but useless if you are doing all your own fabrication or going with a diff kit.
