13B-MSP, 4 rotor conversion?

Has anyone heard of someone building a 4 rotor 13B-MSP N/A engine. I understand there is a guy named Hitman that built a 3 rotor 13b-rew. I imagine the custom E-shaft would be pricey aswell as finding two RX-8 engines to salvage.

Might be good for a solid 450+ hp?

just a warning. you'll be flamed hardcore for this in here (assuming people actually take your post seriously--which i doubt since you only have one)

They way that hit mans engine set up would not really work for the renesis, you would have to do it the grannys way (which is mating two engines together) because as far as a know mazda never made a renesis style fat intermediate housing like they did for the 20b.

There are a few 4 rotor engines already out there. I know mercedes dabbled with a complete 4 rotor for the C111, but it's a mercedes engine so it'll be expensive and to top it off it was a prototype only so finding one would be a miracle, and it's old tech so it will have alot of wear problems.

It could be done, You'd probably have to fab your own e shaft for 90 degree seperation between rotors for best power output, come up with a supporting bearing design for the eshaft to prevent bad wear on the housing...etc..etc...expect to spend gobs and gobs of hard earned money, like ritchie rich style to do it.

On a side note www.hurleyrotary.com has some interesting conversions like a 3 rotor 12a conversion for about $8900 for a working setup. They also mention a quad rotor and a six rotor at http://www.hurleyrotary.com/hme13btt.aspx at the bottom of the page, no price though so it can't be cheap. Whether they produce them or not is another question.

Idiot idea of the month.

Oh, for those who can't tell, AMVRacing obviously took the text verbatim off of Kiwi-RE's website, copied the price pretending that it was actually in American dollars, and then slashed it and listed the converted price to make it look like you were saving $3000.

R.P.M. 12-07-06 01:19 PM

Hahaha, I was wondering about that LOL
