If you're using the original radiator and oil cooler, pick up a fan from an old Taurus. I've got one on my car that fits perfectly behind the radiator and ducts down to cover, maybe, 2/3 of the oil cooler. And they're usually dirt cheap at a junkyard.

what kind of wiring did you do to make it work. lates matt22

Cut it out of the taurus on the far side of the connector. Get an electric thermostatic switch (approx. $20) that pushes through your radiator core to sense the temp. Wire the thermoswitch relay to ground and switched hot, then wire the relay output to the Ford connector. Up behind your radiator, you'll have a full fan with the Ford connector - all very clean-looking. I'll get you a pic of mine tomorrow.

Go to the junk yard and get a T switch & relay from a rabbit, the hard part is to sweat a Boss into the lower tank for the T switch, I did it and that's next on the pic list to take and post

Do you know when that VW t-switch closes? It sounds like an easier setup if the temp is right.
