Will 17x7.5 fit on rx4?
The wheel wells look real big, anyone have experience with 17? I found these wheels and they are only 30 minutes from my shop
ROTA WHEEL RB17X7.5 +20 4X110 RGM MAZDA RX7 RX4 RX3 RX2 R100 626 GLC KE20 KE10 | eBay they have 15, 16 and other sizes and width, I wanna put some meat on here though!! LOL. |
do you want a big boned girl or do you want big meat? 17s are too big imho.

I agree- NO bigger than a 16. That opens up tire selection a bit as well. Over sized rims is just, well, wrong. The 'Donk' thing comes to mind. I know that's the extreme end, but IMO your car deserves better treatment. Draw up some cardboard mock ups, and see what it looks like...
Car looks beautiful, BTW. Would have never been a fan of the brown interior, but its SOOOOOO clean that I can't help but need to wipe a little trickle of slobber off my chin... And good on ya for never deciding to shove it off to someone else. |

I wanna get this figured out pretty soon so I can go burn some turns. |
you need 14x8.5s
but really, you should put whatever you want on your car. it is your car after all. |
I have some, 15x8's that fit perfect on my RX-4. Just need to put new tires.

Na, I bought the wheels and haven't had a chance to put tires on them. Maybe this weekend...

On my old RX4 I had 18's and it looked really good but driving it was another story, anyway on the front I had 18x8 with 225 40 18 20 offset and on the rear I had 18x9 with a 265 35 18 25 offset and I could have gone up to a 285 no problem ,I have a toyota diff in the back though which is 1/2 inch narrower each side than the rx4 diff but a 9 inch with a 30 offset fits easy even with the rx4 diff.
I have since gone to 16inch simmons wheels and it its a whole lot better to drive so I would not go bigger than 16's for handling ( unsprung weight ) , as far as looks big wheels will make the car look weird if the stance is not set up right but can look fantastic if the set up is addressed properly. It comes down to proportions mate and a 15-16 inch wheel is I would say is spot on look for these cars just make sure you get a rim with plenty of lip. dont forget that you will most likely have to roll your rear guards matey depending on offset and width |
mu current rx4 with the now sold 15 x7 and 15x8 inch simmons , I will upload pics with the new 16x8 16x9 simmons soon

Perfect- Thats what I'm talkin' bout'! Nice car, too... Got a thread going on it somewhere on here?
What was the tire size on them? Fills out the wheel wells JUST right. Thats where I want to go with the GTR.... Body color matched... |
Thanks for the compliment on the car mate !!! I dont have thread going on this build because its been a very long one and who knows when iy will finish.
As far as the wheels they are 15x8 25 offset in the rear and 15x7 20 offset front and i had the rear guards rolled for clearence and the tires are 205 55 15 front and 225 50 15 rear but the rears were deflated in the rear as the car was on stands thats why they look a bit fat on the sidewall . |
