where to find repu info...

I might be buying a 74 repu, where can I find out what to look for? I already know that it is a four speed (and a early 5-speed will fit), but what else? I am mostly interested because it is presmog (can you say TII?) and it's a piece of history. my fb will probably go full track car status soon and I'd be able to drive the repu on the street...

Look for rust anywheres. Mazda did very poor rustproofing.

Your best resource would be mazdarepu.com, Jeff20b is quite knowledgeable about these and I have been around them and owned more then my share as well.

Good luck and have fun

you dont want an old school, its a headache. you should just junk that idea and let me know where this REPU is. In return, I will hook you up with HP parts. :icon_tup:

Pre-smog must be nice, the only rotary that wouldnt need to be smogged in AZ is an NSU, 67 and newer must be smogged (even motorcycles) unless you register as collector car.

Cool on the REPU. Things to look for are floor pan rust, they almost all seem to have that. Also would be the battery box, most are pretty shot. The other big thing is the front valence. Pineapple did some fiberglass repro's but they are not very common and good condition originals are also nearly extinct.

Everything else is the same as any other old car.
