Where do prototypes go?
I was just thinking to myself the other day ... what do companies do with their functioning prototype cars? Like the rx-01, i know that BMW and mercedes also came up with a few cars. Does anyone know the where abouts of those cars now?

Probably go to a storage facility or they crush them

so sad :( ... would of loved to get my hands on the rx-01 ... looked pretty sweet

i highly doubt they crush a million dollar project/prototype car lol...most likely they put it in a museum or somethin

some cues taken from it for the rx8 tough ;)
most prototype cars are crushed, but i do remember seeing a post with pics from a museum in germany i think with a bunch of the old rotary prototypes including the mercedes four rotor ( i think it may be the one that felix wankel used to drive, or was that a bmw? ) Ill try to find it... |
An individual owned the vette with the 4 rotored motor. No idea where it is now. Maybe it too is in a museum.

Mazda keeps/stores a lot of their running prototype vehicles. Almost all the design mules and such, get scrapped though. Mazda has it's very own museum in Japan, that just got renovated... see here:
