Street Outlaws Murder Nova vs Datsun 1200 rotary

One of my favorite tv shows that I watch and respect, the Street Outlaws, aka OKC racers, has finally raced a Rotary. Here is the vid from youtube. The mighty titan Murder Nova vs the little 1.3 liter Datsun 1200 -13b turbo rotary. It looks like the Big Chief has his hand up for Shawn then drop it. Wow! Crazy take off!

The hollands performance dsm from my town made to through everyone but chief.
Chief apologized for saying anything bad about imports to trevor.
Word is they arnt going to air the scenes.... I think its a hillbilly pride thing. Cant show the world that imports are more impressive then 3000hp muscle cars lol

13b Datsun Beat Murder Nova - YouTube

Rotary engine is still the best engine swap to any imports and sometimes domestic cars in the world!

Sorry to my PR rotary brotha! I miss this one!
Watch "new rotary world record major league rx8 6.190 @ 224mph" on YouTube

The new king of the hill in import drag racing: EKanoo Racing’s 2JZ-powered Toyota Supra.
Run a 6.05 sec @ 141 mph 1/4 mile.

I'm sure Major League and Lokito Killer both car from PR will beat that very soon! Oh and Pac Performance is also wanted to beat the record as well! Long live Rotary Power!

I highly doubt that. If anything it would make for good drama, would set them up for bringing in a larger import fanbase and open up the possibility of a rematch episode, all of which equals more ratings.. That's what TV cares about, not hillbilly feelings..
If the Datsun crew was smart and acted like adults they would have waited to see what Discovery did with the episode. There is video proof so wether we found out now or after the episode, it was going to come out.. Now they've risked not making it on the episode and can pretty much guarantee to not be invited back.

Wonder how you feel now

It looked like the imports were not leaving hard or had their cars turned down for the street, The supra would of eaten his opponent but broke a tranny, Bola de humo rx7 got left on but was going at least 10mph faster at the 1/8 than the pos el camino,

What the hell was up with the datsun-nissan description instead of saying datsun 1200?

I give all those foreign cars credit as they have not even a third of the cubic inch size as some of those guys have in a few of those street outlaw cars. That was a good one to watch.

There were a few home town cars there. I've seen them run much harder in person at Orlando SpeedWorld. But that's on a prepped surface.

You have to be set up for the road. They were set up for the track.

Loved it

RotaryEvolution 03-23-17 01:12 AM

you loved watching the rotary datsun lose?

quite the thread revival for a loss.

If you understand Spanish, Boris Rojas explains in detail on YouTube what happened the day they ran them. Some examples were: the import guys weren't allowed to see or test where they were to hit the cars, all the import cars are/were setup for prepped 1/4 mile tracks(not 1/8th street).....
Etc., Etc.,
I will search the link and post it here

Yeah I remember reading and hearing about all that. They were setup to lose from the start. It wouldn't do the show any good if a bunch of guys with little engines showed up and wiped the floor with them. I am sure the results would have been different had them had time to properly setup the cars for the environment.

I think that the reaction some of us had was misunderstood , I like to see anything rotary beat or almost beat American muscle . I think ( despite the controversy ) it was a great run and reality TV definitely isn't reality .
