How do I remove the steering wheel on a 88 RX7??

I removed the main nut but the steering wheel doesn't come off?

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

they are on pretty good. I assume you took the front cover off the steering wheel. you undo thta main nut, its like a 21mm, there shoudl also be a lock washer on there. and you basically pull like hell, or use a wheel puller thing. I didnt have one at hand.

you can also gently hit it from behind, with something. mine just cam eoff, you have to pull at the right angle to get it off. and make sure there is nothing hooked up still ike a wire to the horn. let me know if that helps.

I always turn the nut back on a few turns then with both hands one on either side
give it a good hit and a pull and they come right off.
the nut it there to keep from hitting yourself in the face if it lets go on the good hit part:)

I'm waitin' for that "wisdom of age" bit to kick in to sort of mitigate the muscle spasms and aching joints...
