location of e-fan controller probe.

I just installed an aluminum rad and e-fan on my Rx3. I used the probe that fits between the fins on the rad.

The probe sits under the fan shroud and is well out of the way. I placed the probe right at the outlet from the rad. The probe has a variable setting so I can dial the controler to set it.

I could not think of a better location for the probe. The thermostate housing or rad inlet area would not account for cooling from air moving through the rad while moving.

I picked up a t/stat housing from an fb... aluminum, with a blank spot for a sensor.

Its good in this location because it turns the fan on as soon as the t/stat opens and sends the hot water to the radiator. It also stays on longer because the fan can't cool the water in the t/stat housing.

Hayden #3651 fan controller ($56 at o'reilly)complete kit, has threaded sensor, not the probe.

Hope this helps?
