RX2 Coilovers
 

Can anyone recommend a good coil over suspension for the RX2? Has anyone tried the F2 Function coil overs or the RE Speed?

I just bought the form functions,but have not installed yet good thing about these is that they come ready to install,the re speed I believe you have to weld on or do some modifications to them ,not so sure.I know alot of friends running the form functions and they claim to feel a big difference.but they sure are pricey most shops sell them anywhere from $1600 to $2000.

dave is correct...RE-SPEED needs welding and mods...but not much just welding mostly and form funk are a drop and go...

i would much rather pay more for a better quality no pain in the ass drop and go suspension for the duce...there really nice too...Somebody in this section just bought a pair from form funk and dropped them in his duce...He also made a thread here in the other rotary section...check him out...he has a nice little build going on...

I have had some friends with the Function and Form coilovers and have not been impressed with them. This was on a Civic and the RX2 coils may be different, but I know one guy that blew out a strut in less then 300 miles. They did replace it, but...

As for RE-Speed. I have worked with Billy on a couple of things and he has always treated me very well. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the parts he sells. A little extra work for a little trust in the parts you have is worth the hassle.

to each there own then...agree to disagree..it would be nice if re-speed came up with a full drop and go coil over set up for the first gen...

I would not put our kit in the same market as the form-function coil overs. What we offer is a conversion kit for the stock strut housings and the ability to use a more readily available insert. Rear kit will be somewhat the same concept. These offer an economical way to have coil over adjustments.

In true world terms, "Coil Over" systems are simply a shock valving and spring rate that are matched to the wheel rate of the vehicle, with threaded adjustment, all packaged together.

In the end, either kit gives you the same thing. Ours simply requires a little more work to get there.

I feel that Billy should make an adapter plate to install FB struts/brake assembly over the RX-2 control arms. Most RX owners are cheap so it will be hard to justify spending over $1,200 on aftermarket assemblies

I actually love my Func & Form coilovers, I mean u have a 30 step adjustment rate so u eighter ride like a cadillac or like a cutspring civic u pick, the quality is impresive and the handaling is a huge difference from factory to this setup.

what are these form functions? I have never heard of them. Link Please? Do they make them for the first gen?

thanks, yeah, I actually emailed them and they said that they dont offer it for the first gen at this time.

For the first gen I had RE-Speed coilovers and they worked pretty good with some new shocks.

I thought about getting those F&F coilovers but I just cant justify spending that kind of cash on a car only worth 2 or 3 times that amount. Ill be getting a kit from billy when the rear is available, he just needs a car to get the measurements off of and I think its going to be from mine, hehe.

I'm with you there, mainly because I'd probably want 3 kits and there's no way I can swing 3x the F&F kits. I need to check out the RE Speed kit. How much welding is required and when will the rears be available?
