RX-2 brake booster
Alright, the brake booster on my 73 RX-2 is on it's last legs. Last time I checked, these are nearly impossible to find new.. but by all means if anyone knows where to get a new/rebuilt one please let me know.
I've also heard you can have them rebuilt. Any suggestions where? Has anyone successfully adapted one from another car/year? thanks, Mike |
Hey Mike, this is Tom with the green '73 rx2...we've talked at sevenstock a couple of times. Jeff at Rotary Power helped me when my booster took a shit. He had someone who rebuids them. Did a good job, runs great now and plenty reliable. Hope that helps. T

There are couple of places in LA. LMK

Thanks guys! I actually found a place here in Sac that rebuilds them. It cost me $150 but it looks brand new so it was worth it.
The odd thing is they said I had gas in my old one, which contributed to it failing by softening the rubber. I'm trying to figure out how gas made it all the way through that vac line into the booster. Mike |
add an in-line filter from FB's to ensure no liquid goes back to the brake booster

name & number of shop please?

Power Brake Sales
1517 McCormack St. Sacramento CA 95811 (916) 446-7829 They should have a RX-2 booster ready to go now, since they used mine as a template of sorts. They had my booster done within 24 hrs., so either way it's a pretty quick turnaround. What does this filter look like, wacky? The brake shop gave me a one-way check valve that I put in line, but I may add a 2nd one by the intake for extra protection. Mike |
its a FB check valve. sorry for using the wronga terminology.
