RX-2 aftermarket parts
 

All right calling all 2 owners. I have seen some pictures lately of some RX-2's with aftermarket fiberglass on the outside and aftermarket interior parts like dashboards, door panels, etc. Does anyone have ANY idea where these people are getting this stuff? I dont think it is all custom jobs. Anyway if anyone knows of anywhere, let me know.

Let me know if you find out, I've never found anything for my RX-2. I really doubt there is anything like that in the US. It is probably coming from Austraila or New Zealand.

you used to be able to get a front end for the rx3 from jcwhitney in fiberglass. i would love to know where to get it now, and for either the rx2 or 3. i know of a shop near me that had a project for a r100 that thery were making a full fiberglass body for a tube frame.

maybe one of you guys know where i can get aftermarket bushings for my rx2. i want to replace them all, and was thinking of maybe energysuspention but have not called them yet. i was also wondering if i would be able to use 1st gen rx7 bushings as most of the parts should be the same. please help me out.

the bushings aren't the same as first gens and energy suspension does not make them. almost anything for these cars will need to be hand built. no one has made any bolt on parts for years. I just sold my IT RX2 race car a couple of month ago, and all the performance and race parts were hand built. good luck on the fiberglass I would imagine someone built the parts themselves.

Regarding the bushings for the RX2, I'm sure if you contacted some of the big australian rotary places they would be able to maybe help you out

I have found some pretty good leads on a lot of performance parts. Mostly, like coffin mentioned, they can be found in Australia. I have yet to find however a good place to find fiberglass or interior parts. Try some of the links on this page:

If you are looking for performance parts for the older rx's here in aust is a great place to look. and with our crapy exchange rate you can probably get some great deals.

Call up Corksport talk to Derick he has some conections in AU.
struts/springs no problem. He also has his personal front air dam
from his car, he may reproduce if there is enough interest. And many more parts.

Body kits try www.selectmaz.com they have a wide body kit for a R100 will fit RX2 with some slight modfications.

and it looks kinda interesting. Anyone with an RX-3 would look great in their kit. Turbo FB, do you think that the R-100 kit would pretty much fit an RX-2? I get the feeling that the RX-2 has a more pointed nose cone. Anyway I will also check with corksport.

Yep, already emailed them and they said they don't really have much for the RX-2, see below:

"Unfortunately, we do not have much for your Mazda. The lower ball joints are $26.87 each, the lower control arm bushings are $6.00 each and the tie rod sleeves are $11.68. Let us know if you can use any of these."

I'll probably pick up a set of each anyway, once we decide which RX-2 we're going to build up.

damn...they hvent gotten back to me yet, but i am sure it is the same story. :mad: oh....fyi...pepboys stocks the te rod sleeves for $5.99, tat as the only part they had/could get for it.
