That is sweet. Rotary transplants kick ass. Right now I'm trying to talk one of my co-workers into putting a rotary in his Datsun 510 that he is rebuilding.

I'm a member of that group also being a Healey owner. One thing I am always looking for is the illusive Cape Cod Motors Rotary Bugeyes. It was a small company back in the early 80s that made about 10 rotary powered Bugeye Sprites using 12A drivetrains out of 1st generation Rx7s. Being an Austin Healey nut and a Rx7 nut (Bought my 1st Nov 1978) I've always wanted one. I guess it's my Holy Grail...

But, if you really want to see what has been done to a Bugeye, take a look at this one. It's not rotary powered, but it is a work of art. I saw it and talked to the guy who built it back in 2002...

I came very close to doing a similar swap 2 years ago with a 13B but backed out because of too many other priorities. Wife, House, typical BS excuses. I had found a very straight and very reasonably priced Bug Eye which I passed on.

I am now considering a 1968 to 1970 Datsun Roadster. Love the body but it will need quite a bit of fabrication to fit a single turbo Rotary in it properly. Should be a great project. I’ve got a Miata donor rear end, sprint car type rack & pinion and a few other goodies just waiting until I find the right car.
