RHD R100 on ebay!

This thing is amazing! Those mirrors alone are hella-cool! I have nothing to do with this auction but if I lived out west I would snatch this thing up!

Smeagol 09-14-04 09:37 PM

I want it and I am out West, but I have a feeling it's going to soar well out of my price range.

Gee...that student loan money may come in handy after all!!!!

Detlman 09-14-04 10:58 PM

That is SWEEEET ! I live in Los Angeles and would just like to see it . That is an awesome clean and rare car. I bet it gets in the neighborhood of 10K or more

Smeagol 09-15-04 12:01 AM

Yeah that's what I was thinking..

Siraniko 09-15-04 12:17 AM

FD_dave 09-15-04 12:18 AM

Detlman 09-21-04 02:12 PM

damn it closed at over 14K !!! nice sale for the owner and it was a NO RESERVE auction.

I might just have to sell mine now. THe wife says to get rid of it ince I already have a show car and a new car on order...too many cars

DriveFast7 09-21-04 03:20 PM

Is it really worth US $14,250.00

Detlman 09-21-04 03:42 PM

Worth? Depends who you ask, it was worth it to whoever bought it

web777 09-21-04 03:55 PM

I just hope the new owner doesn't turn it into a race car.

FD_dave 09-21-04 05:17 PM

yeah hope whoever buys it keeps it original and well-taken care of

anybody actually saw this car in person? those pictures are when the car's still in japan

Smeagol 09-22-04 05:18 AM

That's actually a little weird now that you guys mention it. The high bidder was the very same guy that recently won my '71 1200 on eBay. Just out of curiosity, I investigated a little and noticed that he's also bought another red R-100, a 73 RX-3 coupe, a 79 Limited RX-7, a 85 GSL-SE and that $14k R-100 all within the past 4 months. Total on all these cars is in excess of $35,000. No idea how he can be affording all these cars, who knows what he's up to. I hope the cars are truely restored/cared for like he said. Now, don't get me wrong I'm not knocking him on anything and our eBay transaction was perfect smooth.. but you gotta wonder what's up there.

now 09-22-04 09:05 AM

maybe its jay leno spelling?

FD_dave 09-22-04 10:41 AM

maybe just a rich guy who savors old rotaries...we hope. at sevenstock, i met the owner of the cosmo sport and he owns something like 30 mazdas, including a couple of r100's. hopefully this guy's the same

web777 09-22-04 05:54 PM

Look at his other bids. IT's all Mazda related, brochures, light bulbs...etc. Is there a museum opening soon!!

multirotor 09-23-04 03:38 AM

But the light bulbs are not Mazda related. Totally different company "mazda". He doesn't know that ?!

web777 09-23-04 12:13 PM

I emailed him. He must be pretty wealthy buying all these rotaries. He says this one is for his newborn son.

"hi,

thank you. yes i will keep it all my live. this car will be for my son. don,t worry he's 5 month old. when grows he will know that the car is not for racing i'm going to make sure !.
call me if you need anything. bye."

FD_dave 09-23-04 03:58 PM

sounds like a nice guy
