Racing Beat Stage I RX-2 Suspension Parts

I called RB yesterday, looking for one of their Stage 1 Suspension Kits. They no longer sell it (just a simple bracket that relocates the swaybar a bit), and couldn't do anything to help me. Any chance someone here will donate a set for me to draw up and fab a set? I'd have it back in the mail same-day.

you talking about the top plate thing for the struts?
and no i dont think i want to pull the struts out of my rx2
but i could measure how far back (and i think) out it moves it.

No, that's that they've called the Stage 2. These are blocks that move the pivot for the swaybar down and forward, so that the swaybar sits level. As it stands, the swaybar's location pushes the control arms rearward when the springs compress, so your caster's always changing.

RB's website says that the strut tops move the caster back 12 degrees. If you can tell me how much they move the center of the strut back, that would be cool, as I could make a set of those too.

Crit,

The stage 2 kit actually moves the shock giving 1.2deg of castor, not 12. That is a misprint on their site.

I have both the stage 1 and stage 2 kits on my car. I am planning on rebuilding everything, so they will coming off shortly. When they do, I can take the measurements for you so you can have them fabbed up.

I have the stage 1 as well and it really only moves the bar down and because its at an
angle it moves it a little forward all you would have to do is trace the shape of the
body side where the bushing goes and build a block that shape top and bottom
about 3/4" thick get some longer bolts and you would have the their kit.

Ok, well I don't know if this helps, but this is what I've done to help with part avalibility as it's so hard to find stuff for the rx2. I've had to go to all 1st gen suspension parts.

First I cut off the posts that hold the lower control arms and drilled and tapped them to fit a bolt and added a piece of flat stock for strength and I will also bolt my rack and pinion to it.

Then I ordered the ground control u-weld coil over set and taller springs because the ones they sent are to soft and short, lol they made my duce a low rider in the front lol and Re-speed camber plates and I cut the strut tower to fit the plates.

Now all I'm waiting on is to find a rack and pinion to fit.

What length and spring rate did you get....I found the same problem with my G/C kit...

JC,

If you can sketch up those blocks for the swaybar, I'd really appreciate it.

FYI, your condenser is in the back of my truck, waiting for a large-enough box to come my way.
