Question???
Hey gents, I was recently doing some thinking, and I got the idea of desigining an openwheel rotary powered sports car. It would be simpler to the Lotus 7, but mid engine plat form. I would like to use a mildly street ported 12a and I am wondering if you guys know of a transaxel that will bolt in?
Thanks Ted. |
the fello who did the VW Beetle with a 12a, what transmistion did you use, and how did you mount it? Also how long would you say the assembly was?

Hewland Mark 8 transaxles have been mounted behind rotaries for a long time. IIRC, they are based on the VW transaxle. Kennedy engineering makes kit for the VW transaxle to rotary.
I guess what I would say is to keep an eye out for a Hewland Mark 8 or call Kennedy engineering to find what transaxle the kit uses. Here is a link for a chat site for a Mazda powered formula car that has the Hewland and has been manufactured for 15+ years. You may could find some used parts. http://p211.ezboard.com/bformulamazdaforum -billy |
Thanks you so much.
