Nostalgic Mazda DEALER license plate frames?
Hey, I'm starting this thread in hopes that those of you with old Mazda Dealership frames will post up images. Many dealers who were in business during the 1970s when many of our old school cars were delivered have since gone out of business. It would be great to see images of what you've got!! I personally have an early model '79 that I'm working on and would love to have a period-correct license plate frame.

The "North Hollywood Mazda" frame came from a RX2 sedan found in a wrecking yard in Sacramento. The "Fresno Mazda" frame came from a RX2 Coupe in Turners Auto wrecking in Fresno. The "Phoenix Mazda" frame came from a Rx3 at the famous Hidden Valley auto wrecking in Mariposa. At one time they had an import yard that had maybe 15 old Mazdas but they closed it about 6-7 years ago and crushed everything. The "Reno Mazda" frame is from my Rx2 and includes the super rare dealer placard. I purchased the car from the son of the mother own originally owned the car. He wanted his mom's plate and number to be re-used on another car. I unscrewed the plate and frame and underneath the plate sat the placard which had been there since the car was new. We looked at each other and uttered "oh shit"! |
