New Rotary guy here w/ a REPU

My name is Jason and I'm in SOCal. I recently acquired a '74 repu and now need a crash course in rotaries and what to do/or avoid in the rebuild of the 12a installed in the REPU now.

I know little/nothing about carbs or rotary engines. I love forced induction and want a 20b ultimately.

that being said, the truck is clean, straigh, primered and ready for a rebuild. I would prefer a 13bt if I could get my hands on it cheap or maybe even just stay NA for now.. if I stay NA, I'd like to make a little more hp/tq than stock. What should I do from here? remember, I know nothing about rotary's so be gentle. I am reading up as fast as I can and am not new to cars/modifications/projects/money pits.. just new to rotary power in the first person.

Thaks and loook forward to learning and contributing here.

I dont know what you have for a carb and exhaust on that but you can get a decent boost in performance with an aftermarket carb, header, and muffler. Check in the 1st gen forum for ideas on what can be done with a 12a.

congratulations and welcome to the rotary world! i bought a repu a couple months ago and already have a header and carb/intake setup for it. i suggest you do the same if you want it to be decently fast. too bad somebody robbed the 4port 13b out of yours, that 12a loses you some major h.p.
