New Old School

I am the proud new owner of a 75 Mazda Rotary Pickup. It's an awesome truck. It's yellow and has minimal rust. It has some body damage but nothing too substantial. The only major bummer is that the original owner swapped the 4 Port 13B for a 20R Toyota motor and 5-Speed transmission. :wallbash: But it's still quick with the original rear end. I love this truck. I basically stole it for $1000. I'll get pictures on Thursday and will get them posted when I can. Thanks alot guys, another Old School Rotary is saved to an enthusiast

Congrats on the new truck. You have to rip that piston engine out of there and put back the mazda heart. I don't get why people put different brand engines in cars and trucks?

very nice... those 20R motors are fairly buff from the factory. great alternative to a rotary.

here comes the $$$ spending :)

FirebirdSlayer666 12-05-06 10:22 PM

Yeah the 20R is a tough motor and gets good gas mialage. MY plan is to sell the 20R and get a nice 4 Port 13B with a streetport and supercharge it later.

Well I do need some lights and 2 front fenders and a front valance and a front bumper LOL. I should get pics tomorrow when I have free time in the daylight. If anyone has a good condition 4 Port 13B and are willing to sell that would be awesome.

Terrh 12-07-06 10:22 AM

I have an oldschool 6port 13B, no idea what it's out of origionally but it doesn't have the injector bungs so it must be from something carbed.

FirebirdSlayer666 12-07-06 08:59 PM

IIRC the 6 Ports started in the GSL-SE. The previous owner of that motor probably carbureted it. I'm trying to find an old 4 Port. Also if anyone has an original Repu 4 Speed trans or maybe a 4 Speed out of an SA I'm looking for that as well

trochoid 12-08-06 01:06 AM

There was a brand new, NOS, SA tranny in the 1st gen parts for sale section the other day. I considered it for my REPU, but my hp goals and a 1st gen tranny won't be compatable.

Nice find

Goodluck with the buildup.

Are you planing on using low compression rotors or high in the 13b 4 port?

FirebirdSlayer666 12-09-06 06:37 PM

Not real positive but probably low compression since it will be supercharged in the future. I'd like to find an original Repu tranny which I think would be stronger than an SA tranny. It will be turned into my tow Repu. It'll tow my 7 and other 7's and/or other rotary vehicles to the track.
