I have done more work , bought me a larger sand blaster and more tools I'm looking to buy a band saw to speed up process . I bought a ppg a proxy sealer to seal inner fender area bu been busy with other little project and family . But soon more pictures will come

aussie rx3 05-26-14 11:58 PM

wow dude just joined thie forum and stumbled on this straight away , great work and good to see your getting your hands dirty yourself , im starting on my ground up resto of my rx3 mid next year , i dont have the skills to do it myself so massive kudos to you

Aaron Cake 05-31-14 10:10 AM

So much welding, so much grinding. Glad I'm not back into that for a while...

Run the sanding disc briefly over the entire patch panel before taking pictures. Shows up in the camera so much better. :)

THANKS for the tip. I always go back to your videos. Is only reason I was able to get this project rolling. It's been about 3 months I don't touch it. I been buying more tools and still need to buy a band saw to make it easier im taking way to long fabricating small pieces with cut off wheel, grinder, dremmel, cutting snips wow . plus been busy with other projects and my brothers cars always needing something done. Now I just purchased a 1st Gen Turbo from my couisn he sold it to me cheap so he can focus on his RX2 . So now I got that going and doing some Small upgrades On my RX8 thats taking my money to buy more tools . But i may start in August again when wife starts 1st shift again , That will make it easier for me to focus on car instead of kids a few days out of the week.

The worst part for me is the front end I think once i get that done everything will go smoothly.

papsmagu 06-07-14 08:07 AM

that pearl orange sounds sick! let us know when you make the choice. keep up the good work

I been so busy and with family and other projects and work I didn't have time to work on my Project . Well my son is now 15 and he been working and doing good in sport and wanting a car next year I gave him a choice . Work on my Rx-3 and once he is done with my Rx-3 project and helping me I'll give him the Rx-8 . Well then he ask me how much he will need to give me .? He knows I don't give shit away he works I he gets and he knows I'm a business man so he knows I'm not lying so this project is moving along while I work on my rx-7 . Some recent pictures .

Coming along nicely. Rust repair is the worst part. But when it's done, the actual fun starts.

sen2two 02-26-15 08:26 PM

Ps. Get a cheap harbor freight band saw. They are always on sale for $200. Just put a good blade on it and it will do nicely for your intended purposes. You'll save hours on metal cutting. Plus, no sparks, loud cut off wheel, annoying compressor, ect.

Just look the complete thread and you made me change my mind about my shell... Dammm brother great work, passion and dedication. Keep it up! Did you know or can ask for me with your friends in Aguada or something where and who in PR have a shell for parts? I need a Floor from the front to the spare area.

Thanks in advance and Keep it up!

Thanks and I been a bit busy with my 1St gen but I jump on the rx3 here and there . Are you support for the floor good or is it gone ? Parts for our cars are super rare ,bro is easier to have someone built floor like a full chassis style and it will work good .

good updates man! Your skills are getting better every day buddy! Great restoration progress!

Well the shell I get was cut for drag racing as 3/4 chassis, I have the roll cage, chassis engineering suspension and differential, strange axles but I remove it from the shell to restore it due to the fact that now the laws here doesn't allow that kind of modifications for street use. If not I can build it with that. I already get a Floor from the front to the support frame where the bottom rear seats begins. Any chance you can contact or ask your buddies here in the island ill appreciate.

Going to start a buil thread here soon. Not much to post but I'll do. Just collecting parts.

just read this whole thread! Your project has come a long way and is looking great. I'd be scared of doing that much metal work, but its worth the end result for sure. Keep up the good work, hopefully we will see the rest of that 20B come together soon.
