Sweet car! Very sweet car!

My dad had a 1st gen 929 in that body style here and I have seen a Luce with that engine tranny combo in Japan when I lived there 10 years ago. Nice find with that one!

Sweet car! Did that car ever come with a manual gearbox? I'm now 99.9% sure that my second hand 13bt motor came from one of those. Some of the parts on my motor just seem different from the rx7.

Oh man that that thing is not only sick but it looks tight too. The rims look good on it and the car is lowered that coo right there

I want an old skool 929 now so I can do a 13bt swap, except I would absolutely have to have a five speed. Man that would be one hell of a bad *** car.

thanks guys (and girls incase there is any).

the build will take a couple of months as i dont want rego near xmas
(around $800 to $1000 in australia - including personalised plates. i got IT-13-BT).

and to the question by RotaryRevn they only ever came auto.

i managed to score an ARC top mount intercooler. going to see if i can attach the original top intercooler guard (with the writing to still make it "look" original but will flow better.

also decided on doing the stage 4 rebuild of the turbo from BNR

didnt want the turbo to be sluggish with a back cut original rear wheel.

stage for has t04 rear wheel with the original housing machined out to match it up..so should spool better

Well engine finally pulled down

Engine = fubar

Basically the rotors and rotor housings are not worth using

she has carbon biuld up and rust build up in both rotors so id say yes was buggered well before she stopped running.

Note scoring at 12 o clock and 6 o clock on rotor housings.

End plates yet to be measured to see if they pass. im not confident.

Eccentric shaft is fine.

yep she is special guys..

no matter what i did it was a goner.

rear plate warped and bearings and gears gone.

all that is saveable is the oil pump sump and ecentric shaft and front cover.

ah well.

ive got a low km import series 4 13b rx7 bare block engine i got in the mid 90's sitting in the rx3.

ripping it out tonight and it will be pulled down on the weekend. might be able to use it..

just bought a B&M auto transmission cooler with thermo and trigger switch already installed.

oil temp is an important thing in auto boxes so this give the box a chance of regulating its own temps.
which should help the box be more reliable.

going to mount it in under the passenger side inner guard and cut a portion of the bottom of the plastic guard below that to aid air flow

here it is

hi mate,

it was factory fitted for the 86 to 89 model (series 1).

it was an optional extra for the 89 to 91 (series 2).

unfortunatly mine doesnt have the fridge.

a good mate of mine in sydney as well has the series 1 with the fridge.

here are the pics and info on it -

Some of you may have seen the drinks fridge that the Luce's got. Well, it's a combination of a fridge and air purifier. The purifier is basically the air intake for the fridge and it's this huge drawer that slides out of the fridge unit in the boot:

Name: filter033.jpg
Views: 797
Size: 61.3 KB

The prob is, it's encrusted with 21ys of dirt (mind you it's JDM dirt yo)

I then noticed that the drawer can be taken apart and the filter paper removed You can see that in comparison to some pockets of the filter which are clean, in general it's pretty dirty!

Name: filter031.jpg
Views: 811
Size: 37.0 KB

Tried vacuuming it, but that didn't make any difference...so I went and bought a cabin pollen filter for an Audi A6, which was closest in dimensions

Name: filter036.jpg
Views: 818
Size: 65.9 KB

A little work with some hi-density foam...

Name: filter038.jpg
Views: 813
Size: 52.4 KB

Snap the drawer back together and voila!

Name: filter040.jpg
Views: 799
Size: 65.7 KB

You can see here the fridge unit that takes up 1/3 of the boot
