why electrical? just go with a mechanical (autometer, VDO and sch) along with a custom speedo cable. besides, who pays attention to them annoying things anyway? just memorize them crown victoria headlights and parking lights :nod::nod:

I want to go electro too but can not find a sending unit that will fit my tranny speedo socket, the reason is I have little room for a cable and I also have a tight bend radius where the cable turns into tranny.

I'm using mechanical Autometer speedo with a custom cable. I cant remember the company that made it for me but autometer tech support was the one that gave me the contact info. Basically they'll need what car and year the trany is from and which speedometer you have and they can make you how ever length you need. If I remember its about 75-80 bucks for the metal housing and about 50 bucks for the plastic housing.

Check out Autometer Faq. I'm sure its listed if not email tech support even if you dont own an Autometer gauge they can give you the info.

thanks for the link, I mailed them because I have a problem with my speedometer as well. The damn thing has an error of like ~40 km/h(reads 100km/h when the car is actually running at 60km/h)

I went to my local speedo shop here in Orlando,fl since I changed rim size, rear gears, and tranny they needed the gear ratio and put my rx2 on the lift, spun the tires to 55mph then put on a box and now I have a correct speedo. I believe any shop that calibrates speedos can do the same for you locally. I paid 80 bucks and now do not worry about tickets.
