I will like to know about scca for rx3 or 1st gen

I dont know what scca really is i see it alot of it online but still confuse.I like to know what the differnce is ? I grew up on drag racing , street racing and going to start my Rx3 finally next month. Im going to just leave what I got for now , 9"ford ,Turbo II tranny, 13b Bridge port Turbo II Plates ,600 holley . Anyways I wanted to use my car for daily use and 1/4 and 1/8 racing was looking to go fast but I really dont want my car hitting a wall my worst fear. I think all of ours.

So I was going to get a 85 1st gen again next month from my cousin 13b bridge port holley you know the usual, but I want to focus on specs for what is needed on scca sport thats if not is much required . I dont think a posse 9" ford is much help in that sport. I love the 1st gen wide body kit and if I hit the wall is another 1st gen sorry 1st gen lovers.

So 1st gen or rx3 . I love the wide body kits and low to the ground and turns and it last more then seconds, thanks

Well, the FB can run in a bunch of classes in SCCA. The lowest level of prep would be Improved Touring, "IT" The 12A cars run in ITA, the 13B's run in ITS. Cars are pretty much stock parts with a cage.

To run a wide body car you would go into Production class or GT. Production you keep the stock chassis, GT you can build a tube frame. The bridgeport would put you into GT but I don't think you can run the Holley, you may need a Weber or fuel injection.

Check out the SCCA website look under "Club Racing" then look for "Cars and Rules" In there you can download all the rules in the General Competition Rules, "GCR" It can take a few reads to follow the different rule groups but you'll learn a lot.

thats exactly how I did it this past weekend since it has been raining for the past 5 days here in LA. Stayed in the garage Saturday and Sunday. I think I got my motivation back to finish the black RX-3.

Glad to hear your motivation is back have you thought about a 3 rotor for that nice rx3. I just turned my engine a few times so it gets lubrication and was thinking wow I would love to have a 3 rotor. My 13b is great but 3 rotor I think ill just flip

I raced SCCA ITA (Mazda RX4) for several years. Car was fantastic, driver average. The car and trailer were stolen years ago (Saved me Thousands of $$ in the long run). I am cleaning out the shop. I have numerous RX4 trim pieces, stock bumpers etc. Also a set of Panasport mags, with new sticker Hoosier Road racing tires mounted. They were ready for heading to the track when the car was stolen. Probably no good for racing but maybe a track day
one set of Panasport 13 x 7 wheels
one set of "Sticker" Hoosier 205/60/13 road racing tires.
one set of "Sticker" Hoosier 225/50/13 road racing tires
one J ported 13B long block
Let me know if anyone has an interest. Jim
