I had a crazy idea last night...
3 or 4 rotor in a 60's/70's muscle car.
HELL YEAH! I suppose the only problem would be lack of insane torque, but it would still be enough to move the car, and move it quite rapidly. Ford Mustang, Ford Fairlane, AMC Javelin, AMC AMX, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger (and clones), ANYTHING would be great, although one of the lighter cars would probably work better. What do you guys think? |
hell yes!
|
The AMC Javelin, and a four rotor would be my pick.
A small turbo application would bring the torque into check. :D That would be a pretty cool project if you had $80k and were bored :D |
While you're at it, you could also re-invent the wheel.
|
if you got the money and then show pics of your progress
|
That's where old school rotas come in dude. Rx-4s and Rx-3s were styled to emulate the American muscle car, but they are smaller and lighter. You go put your 20b in an Rx-4 and whup some muscle car ass.
In my opinion, this looks just as cool as any famous American muscle car: http://www.vision.net.au/~bhaslam/Rx4_pics/rx4tuf41.jpg |
actually i never really looked at them rx3's and rx4's like that, but now that u show a pic, it really does look like a mini muscle car...but hey if u got the money to do the project then i say go for it and keep us up dated

One guy on here plans to put a 13B into an Opel GT. My pick would be a 20B in a 1970 (prior to emissions requirements) 240Z.
|
Well mybe not a muscle car like our 1970 383 Cuda Conv but a import car that the old school muscle gearheads know and fear is the Datsun 240 Z and the 510(Rotary). so I would put a 3-4 rotor in a 1970 Datsun 240 Z!!!!
|
how bout a 4-rotor twin turbo, sequential trans Dodge Viper that would piss alot of people off.....it would be great. Imagine you pull into a parking lot full of muscle cars rap it out a few times, park and pop the hood and wait for the..WHAT THE @$%@ REMARKS
|
Wheres a pic of a vega when ya need one
|
Indeed, putting a rotary in one of their beloved Hemi Cuda's or something would be great revenge for all the apes that swap the rotary out for small blocks.
I'd love to see a 67 L88 Vette (worth about half a mil.) come up for auction at that Barret Jackson with a rotary conversion. |
