Gregs, get the Cosmo, put a 6 port with an early front cover in it. The driveshaft does not need to be swapped when changing auto to manual, as far as I know.

To mod a 1st gen tranny's shifter to fit in the '80 and earlier position, look here. http://www.geocities.com/mg12a/mg12a/intro.html The driveshaft and tranny mount should be universal. Maybe use a different set of holes; there are several under there.

That Cosmo Steve posted looks very nice. It makes me want to lower mine slightly. Stock, it just looks too high off the ground and has a very soft ride. I'm guessing if I lowered it a little, the ride would stiffen up a bit simply because it would raise the spring rate a little.

Gregs 02-10-06 03:53 PM

jeff, the car is already a 5 speed and has the transmission with it so im good to go there,
do you happen to have a early 13b front cover? thats pretty much all i would need
pm me please

NEW parts are getting harder and harder to find for it.. Gregs if you do get it for the love of god DON'T bucher it all up, Rx7's are one thing but when it comes to an old school rotary car or truck it's a diffrent story.. If you or any one else needs parts talk to dad he has like 3 of these just as parts cars..

The 70's cosmos was mazda's heavest rotary car made...

Shouldnt Gregs complete paying back ALL the people he owes $$$$$ to, before buying another project?

Wankelguy 02-10-06 08:56 PM

Seems I remember Cosmos having some wierd wheel bolt pattern, can anyone confirm this?

Also, wouldn't a 12A front cover work in lieu of a 13B cover for mounting purposes?

GREGS!!!! When you need parts just rember ALL of the bridges you have just burned in the last 4 years, [What burnes NEVER returns] and when you need a rebuild or parts from RotaryResurrection or any other business for that matter. WE WILL ALL remember you for life on what you have done to others..

Just for the record I am NOT defending or helping Gregs at all on this on, like I have in the past...
