Holley 465 on a REPU...fuel everywhere..

So when I try and start my truck fuel keeps pouring out of where the balck arrows are pointing to..any advice?

I put the accelerator bowl properly with the spring, I just happened to take the picture while it was still messed up.

I also did some research and read some things about certain parts being stuck, so they said gently tap the bowls with a rubber hammer or something, I did that and nothing.

Thanks guys.

Problem:
Key on engine off fuel is pouring out of these locations. Is this correct?

Reason:
Needle and seat is not sealing correctly.

Possible causes:
*A piece of debris may have gotten into the needle/seat assy.
*Float may not be floating due to being cracked.
*Float may be stuck down due to binding or obstruction.
*Float may be out of adjustment.
*Fuel pressure may be too high.

well, key on engine off, no it just stays regular. however when i turn the key to try and start this happens. is it still what you said? if so, is the needle/seat assembly something you can buy by itself?

What is that little rubber cap thing? I've seen them on RB modded Holley carbs before. What do they do, aside from not allowing you to boost prep them? lol

I Think its just a vent

Yes it's a vent and should only open when throttle activates .. The needle and seat are just to the right of the valve with the arrow, screw top with the lock nut underneath It, probably just needs to be cleaned change fuel filter if there is one inline somewhere .. Rather than trying to explain the procedure maybe download the fsm for your model or just find a good diagram . Don't be afraid of it there are not many parts inside the holley carb .. be careful if you are using compressed air to blow things out because you will blow something away if your not . Just take the fuel line off ( you should use spring clamps on your fuel line instead of the screw clamp they are very hard on the hose ) and remove the four screws holding the float bowl on , a light tap or two and the bowl will be free of the carb careful with the gaskets or you will need new ones ..good luck :) gerald m

OK. Static setting works.
The primary bowl can be sensitive to engine vibration. Example; my Bridgeport had this same issue idling with stock motor mounts. The primary bowl was jumping up and down a few inches when idling. It effected the primary bowl more since it was further from the center of rotation.
I did two things to solve this issue. One, put in stiffer motor mounts. Two, adjusted the primary float level lower until the float level was right when the car was idling.
You may want to try dropping your primary float setting.
