Have I lost my mind 13b into 4x4 toyota truck
Have I lost my mind 13b into 4x4 toyota truck
well i have not posted here in some time, but do come in and read here and there.
but i have new idea and that is to drop a s4 13b n/a into my wheeler truck
spec so far
22re old and tired and gut less
35's soon to be 37's
dual stock t-case's for now
5.29's
dom exo cage
flat deck
rci fule tank
toyota rears up front 7 leaf pack 3 1/4 shackles
chevy 63s with over load chopped off 5 inc shackles
pro comp shock soon to replaced with blistine's
reasons why i thinking of this swap
make hicks cry and moon cause they just don't under stand (best part)
should do off camber really well cause of there oiling system while running mixed gas
possible to run upside down so i can drive out of it if i have to (pistons based motors the oil dumps onto pistons and stuff)
the only thing i worried about right now is the ideal troq that the motor gives i am trying to find some stock dyno graphs with basic mods like header, intake all the light stuff
so if any one wants to help me wiht this swap and give me some idea's that would be nice
ps no turbo stuff
cheers Ryan
rev to the moon and back
smooth power band
any way
i herd that a lot of truck in japan use the 13b in there rigs and stuff

if you were to put a rotory upside down it would lose oil pressure as it gets oil at the base of the pan.only way to avoid that would be a dry sump which is $$$..
i think fuel injection would be the best route then u wouldnt have to worry about fuel bowel issues when your on your side etc.
would be a fun project there dyno graphs n the 1st gen section and 2gen think theres a section for it.
cheers
chris.

no i am not really interested in a 12a i know the motor will loose oil pressure but it wont be as bad as a piston motor up side down and if you switch to mix gas at lest i wont kill a seal as easy
and i am going to run efi not a carb
so any one have any good dyno charts ?
thansk

13b 4 port (rotary pickup or Rx-5) stock intake ports, mild exhaust porting. Dellorto carb and restrictive exhaust but you'll get the idea. Flat torque curve. If you only port the exhaust and not the intake, your power curve will not move up and therefore keep some low end torque. Such that it is, the rotormotor is a torqueless wonder it's all about revs.
You may want to extend the oil pickup tube down to the bottom of the pan, 1" off the pan. And some baffling. It won't run upside down, oil will not get to the pickup tube.
