Finally took a small video of my rotary porsche 914

don't forget to rate it. The car is for sale, so if anyone is interested, hit me up. Or just let me know what you think. Thanks

Cool little car...a 914 was my 1st. I'll bet a rotary in there is a barrel o' fun, too. brap brap!

Bummer about the Chalon kit, though, or that thing would sell in a snap. g/l with the sale!

How much do you want for it?

10yearrx7 12-24-09 12:44 PM

NICE!! I bet that thing handles really good

very nice. u do know that tach isn't accurate.

FelixIsGod29X 12-24-09 06:54 PM

Take those petal covers off asap and buy a legit tach. The stock tach is deff inaccurate. But overall looks like good clean work!

GMO-RX7 12-24-09 09:31 PM

If you are the builder then you are the shit. I can only imagine the fabrication. I hope you decide to keep it and give it the treatment it deserves.

HaHa...you guys can tell that tach isn't accurate just off sound? You're good. I know it isn't accurate. But it is the complete dash from a 911. I could actually sell that tach, and buy a kick ass aftermarket one and still have money left over. 911 parts are valuable! Any recomendations on a nice rotary specific tach?

Also, for the guy who asked how much...I would take $4,300. But no less. Over $10K in the entire swap and a billion man hours!

Natey 12-28-09 11:25 AM

I wonder if that radiator set up would work with a stock front end...

yes it would. The trunk bay and hood are stock. The only diff in the front end is the fenders and bumper

Sick swap. I was going to do the same swap back in the days. 914 cost a fortune back then. I did like the collectable 914-6 cyclinder. $$$$ Mazda rx3 was way cheaper and faster.

Natey 12-30-09 11:06 AM

...faster until you hit a corner. ;)

....but not the better investment. A 914-6 in good condition can run you over $30k today!

Not sure what you mean, but this car handles better than any RX-7 ( not hatin', I love RX-7s) Sure, you could dump $10K into an RX-7 suspension setup, but the mid engine setup of a 914 is hard to beat stock. have you ever ridden in one?

Natey 12-31-09 11:17 AM

Like i said, my 1st car was a 914. ;) I f-in LOVED the thing, and I was replying to the guy who said than an RX-3 is 'way faster' than one.

FWIW, I play around with the 914s, Caymans, and even Elises at Laguna Seca all the time in my RX-7, and I ain't exactly getting smoked. 914s definitely corner well, but they're not the only car out there with perfect 50/50 weigh distribution. :)

Sory, did not mean to say ANY RX-7. I meant any reasonably stock streetable RX-7. It's comparing a porsche 911 to an RX-7. Only, the 914 is a near perfectly balanced car with the mid-engine setup. Then ad a 911 front suspension setup to that, and well....you get the picture.

Dave-ger 12-31-09 06:11 PM

sweet ride

do you currently race your RX-7? I read the mods you've done. I bet that thing is fun as hell to drive!

Natey 01-01-10 01:25 PM

Thanks, man. It's a money pit, but when it runs right...weee!

I don't really RACE the 7, I just take it to the track with whatever club is at Laguna (if they'll let me) since I live so close to the place. The MBR Porsche guys are actually a pretty cool crew.

I LOVE that 914 you've got. From a 914 turned RX7 guy, it's the best of both worlds...And priced right.

codytheoutlaw 01-02-10 07:22 AM

my friends dad has one of these, not rotary swapped of course. all it needs are carbs. i wish he would get it running so me and my friend could cruise. anyway, good luck with the sale. that thing is sweet.

bad 83 01-02-10 09:42 AM

Nice ride. I would say it's worth what you are asking for it. Even if the engine took a crap any time soon, the swap has already been done so the hard part has already been taken care of. Cool little car.

Oval-RX7 04-21-10 10:02 PM

Ive got an 85 RX7 13b we oval race and a 914 1.7 FI original motor 914 for the street. What I would like to do now is to put a rotary in my 914 wide body sitting empty with no motor or trans. I know about kennedy, but I was wondering about the mount you have made to attach the rotary to the 914 chassis. Would love to see what you did up close and did you sell your car?

alex ruano 04-22-10 12:26 AM

nice swap bro
