coil wiring help

i am still having trouble with my coils for a rx7. the year is a 1991 and its a 13b which is single turbo.

does anyone know which wire does what on each coil? i think there should be a positive (12 volt), negative, and a pulse from the ignition timing. which is which?

i know there are also wires for the tach and so on but im just concerned with getting spark for now.

On Leading coil the RED wire comes from ECU Leading Igt, chassis is ground, the TAN wire is 12v switched power

On the Trailing coil the RED wire comes from ECU Trailing Igt, the TAN wire is also 12v switched power. Ground is also to chassis ground. The WHITE wire Is the Trailing coil select from ECU, The BLACK wire goes to Tach and the YELLOW is IGF and not used.

These are in reference to plug ends on coil side. Hope this helps!

connector 1v on the ecu says "ignition confirmation signal" . is this one needed?
i have already found the ignition timing connectors and the trailing coil selection but this one is extra.

According to the 89-91 wiring diagram I looked at it goes to the yellow wire I mentioned wasn't used on Trailing ignition coil (4 pin) plug.

ahhh
would it be a good idea to ground the ecu to the engine as well? this is a kit car so i am worried about the grounds. i found all the pins on the ecu that said ground and connected them together and grounded them to the engine...i hope thats enough

That would be yes because the metal bracket casing of the coils are the ground to chasis ground, and if this is a kit car it might be fiberglass and yes you will need to provide a ground to both coils.

Sorry to open up an old thread but could any of you shed some light on this?
Are the wires been attached to the correct coils? The harness can be switched the other way round too thats the problem.
Any help pls?
