Well its been a busy past month but I have few updates.
-Truck had the hood wrapped a few weeks ago
-Made the 1700 mile + trip to Georgia and back with only minor exhaust issues
-Got rid of the rear shackles and went to sliders
-Some new parts that have already been put on and or will be: steering wheel, oil cooler scoop, air filters, bash bar is off... some other stuff I can't remember.
Now that Iv got some decent mileage on the truck with the gauges installed I noticed I'm seeing high oil temps above 70mph, around 220F just cruising. I took off the bash bar since it blocked some flow, sealed around the oil cooler with foam and made a air scoop to help direct more flow. All of these helped but are not the entire solution.
Some ideas I'v tossed around: fan on part of the oil cooler with an analog switch, new bigger oil cooler, some type of water misting system.
Trying to do the Festival of Speed track day at the Milwaukee Mile this up coming weekend so I'd like to figure out the high oil temps out by then.

my advice would be to replace the stock radiator with an aluminum radiator and install electric fans with proper fan shroud and fan switch. your temps will never go above 180 no matter what you do.

At 70 MPH you should have plenty of air for the oil cooler to work with.
Have you verified that the thermostatic bypass in the oil cooler is working and directing flow through the cooler (instead of bypassing it) when the oil heats up?
As far as a fan goes, the factory thought it was a good idea. The stock fan shroud has a dip in the bottom that pulls air through about 1/3rd of the surface of the oil cooler.

Stock radiator has been recored. No bypass in the oil system, the truck has aftermarket oil cooler and lines. I agree, I need to go to electric fans and build or get a shroud, I never had a shroud for it. By proper shroud do you mean OEM? if not examples?
Not much to update other than I got brad's coilovers installed and put them to the lowest setting, put my 3" blocks back in the rear and rebuilt my exhaust since it was getting pinched between the solid axel and frame. The exhaust now dumps just under the diff. I will try to get some decent pictures of the new ride height this weekend at a local car show. Headed back to school next week so not much will change in the near future. I have not been driving the truck all that much since running costs are so much higher than the bike. Been spending alot of time with this old FZR and did my first track day at Road America with it on 8-21... too many projects and not enough time... or money.
Thinking about adding air helper springs in the rear for when the truck is loaded, its easy to bottom out now with the bike in the back and the lowered ride height.
Whoa, forgot about this for some time. Been busy with school, work, and other hobbies but progress continues. Recent updates include some proper wheels, Rayes power volk 2 (fully forged) which I tore apart and started to refinish right away. I'm also working on a new exhaust being built from scratch.
Side note: I started racing motorcycles this summer and have used the REPU as my tow vehicle, needless to say its a good conversation starter at the track. I usually show up early to camp the night before a track weekend and get to catch the end of a track day or race (cars).... got me thinking I should sign up for a track day with the truck just to see how it would do
I finished this winters projects on the truck mid May, it felt great with fresh upper A-arm bushings and more quiet exhaust. That was until the engine went out on the maiden voyage home from storage. Truck sat for a month while I finished the semester and got the motivation to start taking it apart. I found a craigslist engine for dirt cheap and the gamble paid off. I got everything installed and operational this week and have been driving it a bit, boy is it good to have this thing back!
Just need to finish polishing the wheel faces and get them put back together in time to enjoy the rest of the season!
The new (to me) engine is a completely stock S4 6 port. So far I have not had any oil temp, pressure, or leak issues like I was having with the last engine.

I thought so, I have been designing and manufacturing track and street M/C Suspension parts for 20 years. I have been thinking about getting a repu lately and have been doing alot of research and went thru your posts but just trying to find a good one that ain't rusted thru is harder than I thought let alone find parts for. I sent a pm off to 2wankel on the 77 repu he has listed in f/s old school parts but no response from him.
