Really beautiful work guys I am amazed!
RX2 fan there is a guy here in Australia that does reproduction decals etc... He is the guy to talk to if you are looking for similar stickers... Link to his thread on ausrotary.com http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=147072 Mo Melville |
Wow. It must be a kind of extraordinary passion to have original parts shined up like they were just used for the first time at the assembly plant, for example the door hinges. I wish I could have gone to Sevenstock this year to witness this beautiful Cosmo in mid-restoration and go through all the detailing it has been through. I am slowly working my own restoration of an 82 RX-7 myself so I can relate to a restorer's passion. Hopefully it will return in the future to be displayed. I will definitely subscribe to this thread to read future updates!:icon_tup:

OK... new progress pics. New rear window glass installed. Glen said it took several people more than 2.5 hours to install.
Also installed Dynamat throughout the interior as well as the gas, brake and clutch pedals. Let's see.... I think the MAZDA emblems on the back are a new development as well, but not quite sure. Interior coming in the next few weeks. Then fire it up for the first time. Not sure exactly if that will happen before Christmas or not. We'll see.... That's all for today!!! Edit: In checking through some prior posts of mine, it does appear that the pedals and emblems were already installed, however I think he had to pull the pedals and reinstall to do the Dynamat, but don't quote me on that. |
^My dream car!!! Thanks for all the updates. This is inspiring to say the least!:icon_tup:
. |
this car is outstanding to say the least but what is really incredable is the amount of time and pacience Glenn has put into this car.

OK everyone,
Here we go. All car chrome came back last week fully replated. Turned out amazing. Interior will be back within a week, so the current schedule for car completion is sometime in February. Anyway, here are the pics that Glenn sent me over the past 2 days. Enjoy!! |
more fantastic work. I'm happy to see a rebuild of this caliber happening to a cosmo in north america.
|
Thank you soo much. This is truly a work of art. When i saw the pic of the chrome layed out it reminded me of my cosmo model when i built it. is the rotor m badge a remake or one of thoughs original parts glenn had. If its a remake were did he get it?

I just saw your thread and I am glad to get to know you.
I own a 1967 Cosmo Sport (L10A-10209) since 1985 and I drive it to classic rallies. The last one was the Historic Acropolis back in May 2008. Keep up with good job. Trust me I know what youare goin through... Let's keep in touch... |
Nice Como! Cosmo mike, RCCAZ 1 is not the owner, he is the man who is generous enough to provide this thread.
I understand your car has a 12A fitted. If you want to restore the original 10A please PM I can get you some NOS engine parts. (shameless plug) |
Cosmo Mike, Great car! nothing like a Cosmo.
|
Thx both.
Toyo Kogyo: Yes its a 12A. I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible (Point ignition etc...). And it is more reliable for regurality rallies. 10A in Greece is non existent! But thru internet I managed to get many parts. As soon as I start the 10A project (... and I will!) I ll PM you. |
