75 RX-3 Grill for sale

I just put up this 75 rx-3 grill on ebay if anyone is looking for one. Grill's and tail lights are usually no problem for me to locate for the 2's and 3's if you need any.

thanks
John

Man, those Australians and New Zealanders are sure crazy about the old school. I have had at least 20 emails from different guys down there asking me about my grill.

300 dollars! I wasn't expecting that. I thought maybe 200 or 220 tops........wohoo! I've got grill badges, 3 73 style grills and a set of the orange lenses for the front indicators at the moment....I always have a steady supply of stuff coming in though.

Good God, I've got two or three of the '74 and up grilles complete with the emblems, etc. Guess I should dig them out and eBay those suckers. I also have two or three '72-'73 grilles in great shape. Did an Aussie end up winning the auction?

RotaryRevn 06-22-04 12:02 PM

Yup,

It ended at 355! Everything old school I have sold on ebay has been shipped to Australia or New Zeland and this is no exeption. The 72-73 grills don't fetch as much as the 74-later. The trick is make it a world wide auction. IF you don't allow Australians or NZ to bid on it, you won't make the crazy money. I am always debating whether to sell this stuff or hold it for another 10 years and make probably alot more.

Thanks for the tip! I really thought the older grilles would be more valuable than the newer style.
I've actually been buying quite a few rare speed parts for my Fiesta from the UK eBay recently. The high shipping cost is offset by relatively low prices. How much does it cost to send a grille to Australia generally?

RotaryRevn 06-22-04 01:57 PM

I'll let you know when I send this one. To send one rx3 tailight was about 41 dollars. That is express mail with 3 day delivery and insurance, and delivery confirmation included. 7 day priority mail is a litte cheaper but if you add insurance it comes out to the same price.

rxrotary2_7 06-25-04 07:40 AM

Jesus! I gave my last one of them away to a friend in need. i could use $355 though... LOL.

RotaryRevn 06-25-04 10:46 AM

Yeah, talking with the Aussies, seems the 12a style grill and badges are much more valuable than the 10a style due to the rarity of them. I almost shat myself when I saw that price. I was thinking 150-220 tops.

savannaGT 06-26-04 09:53 PM

Yep...youre right! In aus everyone prefers the later model nosecones! Dont know why...theres nothing wrong with the early style fronts in my opinion.

RotaryRevn 06-26-04 11:16 PM

nope, there's nothing wrong with the early ones, I don't know which one I like better, it's like 50/50. BTW the grill will cost about 36.00 to send to Aus in the box I am using. plus 3 more bucks for extra insurance.
