'71 1200 value?
 

I posted this on another forum recently and was just curious what you guys thought. Anyhow, I recently picked up a really clean '73 RX-2. Unfortunately, that makes 5 Mazdas that I currently own so I may need to sell one of my other prized posessions. I don't really want to, but maintaining 4 cars (selling an SE on eBay also) is going to bankrupt me -- not to mention insurance costs and gas prices. It just doesn't seem fair, 1 or 2 cars always seem to sit and never get driven.

My question to you guys is, what do you feel a really straight clean '71 1200 is worth? It runs and drives fine and is all stock other than open exhaust and some ladder bars on the leaf springs. It's missing only a few very minor parts, is 99% complete which is a rarity in itself I'd say. I have a few spare parts for it also, stuff like brake pads, clutch/pressure plate, and a few other new parts which are probably close to impossible to find these days.

I may list it on eBay and see where it goes from there. I know it's not a R-100 but I think it's equally as rare, I know I've never seen another one around here before.

Yes, some like common wear parts are available but some are nearly impossible to find. I still haven't been able to find a clutch slave cylinder though for some reason, so we finally adapted one from anothe car. Same deal as the R-100 basically, interior/body parts are pretty hard to find unless you happen to run across someone parting one out -- which I've never seen. At least here in the US. OZ/NZ may be a different story, not exactly sure.

Other wear items like brake pads, belts, radiator hoses, plugs/wires, oil/air filters, even some engine parts are usually pretty easy to find though. Odd how that works.

Drove over 100 miles from SF to Sac in 4 hrs of traffic today. Saw the 1200, and it's beautiful. Even got to drive it :D
